It’s been a while but tonight I had yet another dream where I was going to Italy and got lost along the way. This time my whole class from school was going too, and we were at the airport – a really strange looking airport, I might add, probably a result of me not being at an airport for 9 years.
My dream involved multiple scenarios – I kept fussing with my luggage and in the meantime the group disappeared; when I finally got to the gate they had closed it so the plane left without me; I had to find a toilet and finally found one so small that I couldn’t even close the door properly (and I’m not a big person!); the plane was inexplicably late… I remember lots of jumping up and down, laughing and crying to Johanna: We are going to Italy in an hour!!!… trying to phone home but realizing that I had forgotten to charge the cellphone…
I guess I have covered the whole getting-to-the-airport issue already, so now it’s all about finding my way to the gate and actually boarding the plane.
The weird thing is that I am actually not worried about it – I have plenty of time at the airport and there will be plenty of people to ask for directions and help. But the date is drawing close…
By the way, is Linate pronounced Liiinate or Linaaate?

It’s Linà te. And it’s not scary. And I will be there as you arrive. And RELAX! After the long week-end in ROme we’ll fix the trains detail, and I will be proud of being your guide.
By the way, tis morning at about 7 am I was dreaming of getting lost in a supermarket: who’s in the worse state? ;-*
Grazie cara! Sono calma e rilassata, non è ovvio?
Sei pazza!
So okay, it’s pretty easy to tell why I’m dreaming of airports, but getting lost in a supermarket?!
think you’d better go by car! How did you travel to Italy before, if you haven’t seen an airport for 9 years?
And by the way – you won’t need baggage! Empty bags are just ok! You will buy there so much, that you simply don’t need to bring them along with you too!
Have a nice trip!
Gurgo, it’s easy: I didn’t!
oh! ok, well as an experienced Italy traveller I suggest you to plan at least 150 Euros for clothes! (You will need it there, because they have beautiful stores) and you won’t need anything, except your personal stuff and something for the first three days.
Believe me – the rest you will buy there!
Where are you planning to go?
I wish I was going too! I can sort of imagine sitting round a table with you, Tracie, Lori, Yael and Carole B …but its difficult because I only have a hazy photo idea of what you all look like!Except Tracie who I have met and is belissima.
I am sure you will have a safe and happy trip! Hope to see you there in June. At this point we don’t know if we will be able to go…Ahhhhh, and we already bought our tickets!
Cyn
I wish you were coming, Nicki! And Tracie too! And Cyndi too! I sure hope you’ll be able to make it Cyn – I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you!!
Gurgo, I’m flying to Milan, then continuing down to Greve in Chianti. I’ll only be there for three days this time, but that’s still a whole lot more than I’ve accomplished in the past!
I am sorry for you having only three days. Esp. at this weather (here it snowed today again! This f… winter seems to last forever!).
But three days Italy it’s better than a whole month Germany!
enjoy your trip and don’t worry about the flight. up to now all planes came down!
