Question: Is it worth €300 more a week to stay in town, rather than 3 km away?
Answer: Since the 3 km are 3 km on the dwindling Amalfi coast road, I think it is. I want us to be able to walk wherever we want to go, not to take the bus first and then walk. I think I have found the ultimate place for me and Alexander to stay next summer, and I’m so excited!

Update only half an hour later: What happened? What got into me? Am I crazy? I did it! I booked the apartment! I did purchase the rental rescheduling insurance just in case, just because I’m booking so far ahead of time, and I haven’t paid the reservation fee yet, but nonetheless I have booked the apartment for two weeks, July 19th to August 2nd 2008.
This must be right. I have looked at that other apartment, the one in Vettica, for two months and just never got around to booking it; but this apartment I looked at for 45 minutes and all of a sudden I had clicked the “book now” button and entered my details. I think this is what they call “following your gut feeling”.

No, you’re not crazy, you’re just following your gut feelings!
Woohoo! Congrats on the apartment–and I agree with you; it’s definitely worth the extra money to not have to worry about transportation every single day (that’d add up too!).
Brava
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a good thing you never got around to booking the other one!
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but you will be very happy with the service from Summer in Italy…they are first rate!
Good for your honey! the place looks amazing! Alexander must be so excited. I love your spontaneity. I can’t wait til Giada gets a little older and I can plan a trip like this. Wonderful!
