Why oh why did I not get a driver’s license earlier? They say that better late than never, but in this case even six weeks earlier would have made a difference.
Life is so much easier when you can drive. Everything is so much easier. And, had I gotten my license in early May instead of late June I would have been able to rent a car when (if) I go to Italy in May next year. Now I can’t, and will once again have to rely on public transportation which is sometimes excellent and sometimes non-existant; in the Tuscan countryside all too often the latter. I was already looking forward to the freedom that comes with having a car at your disposal. Bummer.
When you were young didn’t you live in a city with good public transportation and didn’t have a car?
