This is the third year in a row that I make panettone for Christmas. This year I used this recipe. It takes a good 24 hours from start to end, but in my experience it is totally worth it.

I know the Italians think I’m kind of crazy for even attempting this, but since you can’t buy panettone anywhere around here I have to make it myself. I have no means of knowing if my panettone is anything like what you get in Italy, but I like it! One of these years I’ll even get a real panettone mold, but for now I improvise.

Christmas is just around the corner. Italy is 150 days away, but never far. How could it be, when I hold it so dearly in my heart?

Happy Holidays, everyone!

Yours looks better than the ones that are exported to the US! Enjoy if there is any left!
