This is the third year in a row that I make panettone for Christmas. This year I used this recipe. It takes a good 24 hours from start to end, but in my experience it is totally worth it.
I know the Italians think I’m kind of crazy for even attempting this, but since you can’t buy panettone anywhere around here I have to make it myself. I have no means of knowing if my panettone is anything like what you get in Italy, but I like it! One of these years I’ll even get a real panettone mold, but for now I improvise.
Christmas is just around the corner. Italy is 150 days away, but never far. How could it be, when I hold it so dearly in my heart?
Happy Holidays, everyone!

It looks absolutely delicious! Best wishes for a happy holiday season and a Happy, Healthy, Fun New Year!
Yours looks better than the ones that are exported to the US! Enjoy if there is any left!
Your panettone is simply gorgeous! I’ve never even thought about making one-maybe now I will.
Wow annika, it looks fabulous…did it taste as good as it looks
what sort of pan/dish do you bake it in? is there a special one?
