… it’s the end of a decade
in another ten years time
who can say what we’ll find
what lies waiting down that line…

In 1979 ABBA had a hit with Happy New Year. That was also the year I was born.
Today I turn 30.

I am not in my twenties anymore.

Ten years ago André and I had just moved in together and decided to have a baby. I was old as time and fretted about leaving youth behind once and for all.

So much has happened. My twenties were no smooth ride, not in any way. At the same time, just because so much has happened it has forced me to grow, and although it was really rough at times, especially during the first half, I think I leave my twenties as a better person.

I leave my twenties as a better person, and that makes it all worthwhile. I had to go through all of that to become who I am. 
I don’t know what lies ahead, but I hope that I will be able to say the same ten years from now. In fact, I will make that my goal.
I want to leave my thirties as a better person.

   Happy Anniversary! Happy Birthday Annika. The twenties are the base for the 30’s. You have a wonderful decade ahead of you, or so everyone said to me when I became 30 two months ago
   I’m sure you’ll leave your 30s a much better person.
