A Side-Trip to Paris

July 18th, 2007

I went with a friend after work to see Paris Je T’Aime.

Please do see this wonderful film if you can. It’s made by 18 (?) directors, and it’s basically all kinds of little vignettes, mini-stories all taking place in Paris.

I wept at the end and was ready to hop the next plane there. Good thing there is a direct flight!

Oh, don’t get me started on Paris. I cried when I saw that film as well. *sigh* It’s the only city I’d consider living. (Seattle is a big town, really.)

I *love* Paris. Love it. I watched The Devil Wears Prada the other day and when the part came when they went to Paris, I felt an urge to go there too which I haven’t felt in a long long time. I guess you could say that Paris was my first love… when I was 16, a year before going to Paris for real, I wrote in my diary that on my gravestone they would carve “Here lies Annika, whose heart was torn between the Paris that she loved and the Hollywood she always dreamed of.”
My Hollywood dreams are long gone, but Paris still holds a special place in my heart.

    Hey Tina!

I just sent in my application and payment proof to the school this past weekend, so they would have gotten it Monday (I sent both via fax and email). I’m just wondering if you heard any kind of confirmation of receipt from them before you got your letter in the mail? Or did the letter just show up one day? I included a letter with my application stating exactly when I wanted to study there, and asking to have my letter sent to me before like August 10th or something so I could apply for the visa in time. Hopefully that works!
